| Thank You For Your Support |

Thank you all for your continued support of our website. Our first month of operation has passed, since taking over the website from Brigitte and it has been a very big learning curve. We thank you for your patience while we have been in our learning phase. Things have been progressing smoothly and the debts you are listing/have listed are getting picked up by the debt collectors in a fairly timely manner. We have also had a lot more members signing up to the website. If you have any questions about using the website or wonder whether a debt is worth listing, please do not hesitate to contact us directly. Even though New Zealand is supposed to be coming out of the recession, it seems that it is getting harder for small businesses to get ahead. The last thing you need is Bad Debtors who continually use your services and then refuse to pay. We hope that our website is helping you to get back the money that is owed to you. If you have any suggestions as to how we can improve the website, please send us an email. FOR CREDITORS Just a friendly reminder, if you list a debt please keep track of the bidding timeframe. If necessary you can extend the period of the listing so you can achieve a positive result. Remember, it’s free to list a debt!! FOR DEBT COLLECTORS Even though some of the debts listed are only small amounts, they are still important to the Creditor who lists them. These small debts soon mount up in value and may mean a small business staying afloat or going under. Any help in collecting these small debts is always appreciated. Please keep bidding we appreciate your support. THANK YOU ALL Lorelle & Will Tags: |

| Blacklist.co.nz has been made even better! |
| 03.11.2009 13:14:22 | |
|
Just a quick note to let everyone know that the Collectors profiles have been upgraded, so now you can include even more information about yourself, your business methods, fee structures, etc. Debt Collectors may also notice now when they are logged in and viewing The Black List, red exclamation marks may appear next to some of the debts. This is just to indicate which ones have not yet been bid on by them yet - a handy little feature recommended by one of our more active Collectors! If anyone else has any more great ideas like this please send them through and we will do our best to include them!  Tags: |

| Further improvements made to blacklist.co.nz |
| 21.10.2009 12:04:58 | |
|
Just to keep everyone up-to-date with what we have been up to, we have been working hard behind the scenes to make blacklist.co.nz even more useful to our members by adding a few simple enhancements: New bids: When a debt collector places a bid on any debt an email is automatically generated and sent out to the creditor, (so long as they have enabled this option) advising them of the bid amount, and the message left by the collector. This email has been improved by adding a link in the email directly to the debt collectors profile, so with a single click the creditor can now view that profile instead of navigating to it from their debts menu as they had to in the past. Debt Collectors Profiles: The website address is now a clickable link instead of a static line of text, so if clicked on a new window will now open and potential clients can visit their bidding debt collectors websites. Further improvements to debt collectors profiles coming soon will be a field so you can tell people a bit about yourself, your fee structure, methods of business or any other information you may feel potential clients could find useful in making their selection. Hopefully this can reduce the amount you need to put in your message, saving you some time as well! We will let everyone know when this feature is ready. Thanks again everyone for your continued support, and if you are going away this long weekend I hope you all have a safe and well-earned break! Tags: |

| Resources for Creditors and other useful information |
| 07.10.2009 18:37:33 | |
|
Some time ago I started to put together some useful resources for creditors, which can be found here. This page has some useful free advice on what you can do to protect yourself and your interests before extending credit to anyone, a guideline to writing or reviewing your terms of trade, and a sample "letter of demand" should the worst happen and you are not paid. Another excellent resource which may be found on our links page is the Insolvency Register where anyone can search for a company or individual to find out if they have ever been made bankrupt or put into liquidation. If you suspect you haven't been paid due to financial difficulties this could be a good place to start before investing too heavily in debt recovery services. One more great tool for locating people is the Companies Office. As it is a legal requirement for all registered companies in New Zealand to keep company, director and shareholder addresses up-to-date, and it is free to search this extensive database, individuals and the companies they hide behind may be easily traced using this resource. Many more useful links can be found on our links page. If there is anything we don't currently have on our website which you would like to see, or think people would find useful, please let us know! You can use our contact form here. Tags: |

| Blacklist.co.nz is impartial and independent |
| 22.09.2009 22:33:26 | |
|
Recently I was approached by a debt collector, asking that I direct all debts listed on The Black List to use his agency, and he would pay me a lot of money to do so. I advised this person that this is not what blacklist.co.nz is all about, that he is welcome to subscribe and bid for debts like anyone else, but he has declined to do so. This is just a reminder to everyone that we are an independent and impartial organisation, and that we are in no way affiliated with any debt collector or debt collection agency. It is up to each collector to be competitive in their pricing, and to build their own reputation if they wish to be successful with their tenders. There is no secret to who the debt collectors are, creditors can click on their name and view their profile and website, to assist them in making their selection. We may not appear to have very many debts listed at the moment, this is because they are getting collected so quickly! Most of our initial teething problems have been ironed out, and we are gearing up for our next big advertising campaign so watch this space!  Tags: |

| Help with selecting a debt collector |
| 13.09.2009 10:38:32 | |
|
So you have a debt, and have listed it on Blacklist.co.nz to get it collected. Smart move - you have collectors putting their tenders in to collect it - now what? Choosing a debt collector need not be an arduous task. If it is simply price you are after, the choice is easy - with Blacklist.co.nz you can view all bids and quickly compare prices and make your selection. If you are after a reputable firm, rest assured all our collectors have been personally selected and invited to register with the site by me, so you won't be sending any patched gang members around to collect your debts! Did you know you may view your debt collectors profile if they have placed a bid by clicking on their name? This will take you to their profile page where you may view their company name, website address and specialist industry if they have one. We are currently seeking feedback on what other information you would like to see on this page, so if you have any suggestions please tell us here. This information will only be visible to those who have a debt which has been tendered for. Thanks for all your support, Brigitte. Tags: |

| More forms of payment offered to debt collectors |
| 06.09.2009 21:57:05 | |
|
We have been trialling PayPal as a secure form of payment for our debt collectors to credit their pre-pay accounts, but are pleased to advise we now also have our bank account details available online for those who wish to pay via internet banking. This information can be found in the "funds > credit your account" menu to logged-in debt collectors. If you send us a screen shot of your internet banking confirmation page, we can credit your account immediately, allowing you to get on with business! A tax invoice will be emailed within 24 hours to the email address you signed up with. Thanks again for such an awesome response, its great to see you all logging in and placing bids as debts are listed!   We are busy planning our next big advertising campaign, so watch this space! | More improvements to website functionality |
| 01.09.2009 00:29:24 | |
|
After receiving some valuable feedback from one of our debt collectors, we have extended our form for creditors listing their debt to include more contact information of their debtor. This personal information won't be visible on the website, but will be emailed to the successful debt collector upon acceptance of the assigment, thus saving everyone time and allowing the collector to get straight to work and begin the debt collection process. Any debts listed after 1 September 2009 will have the additional information. Keep the feedback coming in, and we will keep making blacklist.co.nz even better! Tags: |

| A Big Thank You to all our members |
| 30.08.2009 15:40:41 | |
|
Blacklist.co.nz has been live for 2 months now, and I just wanted to thank everyone who has signed up for helping make it such a great success! We have had some useful feedback from both debt collectors and creditors, and have already made a few minor changes to a few of the features, with more in the pipeline. Because I am also a website designer as well as a qualified accountant any improvements can be made rather quickly, so if you have any ideas to improve the site please send them to me here. Recently, you may have noticed the addition of some resources we have added to blacklist.co.nz. These include information about business "Terms of Trade", and a sample letter of demand. We hope you find this information useful, and if there is anything else you would like added please tell us and we will do our best to include it in the site.
