What is Blacklist.co.nz?

Blacklist is a website which allows businesses and landlords to list their overdue accounts at no charge, making them available for debt collectors and debt collection agencies to tender for. It has been created and is owned by Xaeco Limited, a website design company in Rotorua.

 

Why can't I see details of any of the debts?

You need to register with Blacklist.co.nz before you are able to view detailed debt information. It is free to register, and you can do so here.

 

Are the details of my debtor kept private?

Yes. Although you enter all details in when you list the debt, any personal details about your debtor are kept private until the successful collector has accepted the assignment.

 

How much does it cost to list a debt on Blacklist.co.nz?

Absolutely nothing! Listing a debt on Blacklist.co.nz is completely FREE.

 

How long will my debt be on the Blacklist for?

When you add a debt to the Blacklist, you will be asked how many days you wish to list it for. Once this period of time has elapsed the debt will expire, and not appear in the available debts listing anymore.

The debt is also automatically removed from the list of available debts once you select a debt collector.

 

When can I select a debt collector?

You do not have to wait until your listing has expired, you may select a debt collector at any time during the tender process.

 

How do I delete a debt?

There currently is no option to delete a debt from the Blacklist, however once you have chosen a debt collector or the listing expires it will be removed from the listing of available debts. If you wish to remove your debt sooner than this please contact us.

 

Can I register both as a debt collector and a creditor?

No.

 

What do the red exclamation marks mean?

If you are a debt collector, you may notice red exclamation marks next to some or all of the debts on "The Black List". These are to show you which debts you have not yet bid on or tendered for easily at a single glance.

 

I am a debt collector. How much does it cost to tender for a debt?

It costs nothing to place a tender for a debt on Blacklist.co.nz. If your tender is successful, and you are selected to collect the debt, you pay us when you accept the assignment.

 

How much does it cost to accept an assignment?

We charge a flat fee of $15 before you can receive details of the creditor and their debtor. This is regardless of debt size or collectibility. As you get a $15 credit to your account just for signing up, your first assignment is FREE.

 

Will other debt collection agencies see my tender?

No. Only the creditor who listed the debt can see this information. Competing debt collectors can see that other bids have been placed, but the details of these bids remain private.

 

I have a "no-collect, no-fee" policy. How do I convey this to potential clients?

There is a field which appears below where you place a bid for notes such as this, it allows you to type a short message (up to 255 characters) which will be sent through with the bid. You also have a profile page which creditors can view when you bid on their debts, you may list your website address, logo, and any other useful information here.

 

How do I pay Blacklist.co.nz?

We accept paypal or internet banking as forms of payment. A tax invoice will be issued via email upon receipt of your payment.
